Take a Peek at 2020's Final Underwater Session
The days are getting shorter, and even here in Los Angeles, the temperatures will start to plummet. As much as we would love to continue offering Underwater Sessions regardless of the weather, it is time to say goodbye until the Spring of 2021.
The Things You Find at a Silent Auction Fundraiser
To celebrate the final days of Underwater Season, I'd like to give you a peek into our most recent session. A session that turned out to be exceptional in every way.
This one was a donation Jennifer Tanksley-Coss Photography made to the silent auction at Colfax Charter Elementary School for their yearly fundraiser. It is the biggest fundraising event for the school, and it was a particularly important one this year; well, you all know why - 2020 brought with it some very unique challenges...
While kids are still on a distant learning schedule in our city, the school has done an exceptional job at supporting their families as best as possible. All the extraxcuricular programs not funded through LAUSD are still being offered thanks to donations and fundraising efforts of our industrious parents, teachers and staff.
Music, art, gardening, ballroom dancing, orchestra are financed through fundraisers like the silent auction.
Why we Love This One so Much
We support our little neighborhood school every year but what made this one so special is who we ended up photographing.
The woman in these images is an example of learning how to turn rocks into diamonds. Finding herself in a toxic marriage she learned that sometimes our greatest challenges become our greatest gifts. She now coaches individuals and couples stuck in similar situations to find a path towards living their best lives.
Seeing her and her son having a blast during their session was incredible. Sessions like this one are the reason why we do what we do. We were able to crate stunning portraits and an unforgettable experience for a mom and her child.

Our Why
We do what we do not only to create the most beautiful portraits for you and your families; The real reason is to show you how incredibly amazing and unique you are.
We all hear the phrase "You Are Enough," and even though I understand where it is coming from and appreciate the inclination, it has always felt off to use it. Because we are not "just enough," we are downright fantastic. We all are so special in our own unique ways, but we all tend to forget. When we should be celebrating every step forward, we like to dwell on the steps back that come with learning and growth and dealing with everyday life.
We all are our own superhero - let's not forget that! Even more - let's treat ourselves with the same admiration we bestow on others.
It isn't easy, I know.
My job is to show you through my art that you are unique, beautiful, and remarkable. You deserve to know, and you deserve to see because you are worth it.
