It's September! I cannot believe how quickly summer is winding down. The temperatures we've been experiencing are trying to fool us into thinking that summer will never end. However, fall decorations in department stores and supermarkets are reminding us that it's a constant cycle we cannot stop.
Lately, I've been doing a lot of Underwater portrait sessions, which I have to admit are one of my favorite things to do.
There is nothing that screams "childhood fun" quite like capturing kids in and underwater. The joy you see in their faces is priceless and worth every minute we spend in traffic getting to the water park, the lake or the ocean.
Let's face it, growing up is hard on everyone, and it's an inevitable process. And childhood, like summer, will end one day. Our children deserve documentation of the carefree fun they are having right now, and so do we.
There are several private pools I get to use to create these unique underwater portraits. One of my favorite spots is with Coach Brande of I swim In 10 (https://www.iswimin10.com).
She operates her swim school out of her home in the heart of Valley Village. The intimate setting of a private backyard pool and her gentile approach with constant positive reinforcements over consecutive lesson days is key to her success.
I feel very fortunate that she has opened up her space for the creation of unique underwater portraits from children, to families to maternity clients.
I hope you enjoy these images from one of my most recent Underwater Portrait Sessions.
These three brothers had so much fun; it was infectious - I love my job!
